Data General Unix ( DG / UX ) is a commercial Unix - Operating system of the company Data General and comes from the System V family.

It was delivered by Data General with their computer systems of the Eclipse MV series and later the AViiON series. The first version of DG / UX dates from 1984 . The last version of DG / UX was 5.4 Release 4.11.

It was one of the first UNIX systems to support multiprocessing . In addition, a Logical Volume Manager was included very early on , which could make changes during operation. Later versions also supported NUMA on appropriate hardware.
