Data terminal equipment
DTE (DTE English. Data terminal equipment or abbreviated DTE) is a collective term for all devices in a data transmission system , send the data and / or receive.
Usually, PCs , printers or terminals are data terminals, but also cash registers and cash machines are data terminals from a transmission perspective.
Together with a data transmission device (DCE), the DEE forms a data station in accordance with DIN 44302. The DTE converts user data of an application into transferable units, while the DÜE is responsible for the physical transfer.
