Dautert Island is a tussock- covered island in the archipelago of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located east of Cape Núñez .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2009. It was named after the German naturalist Erich Dautert (1901 - unknown) from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata , who collected biological samples during a visit to South Georgia in 1931.
