David Clarkson (born September 10, 1985 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish football player .

Player career

Motherwell FC and Bristol City

Between 2002 and 2009, Clarkson played for Motherwell FC in the Scottish Premier League . During this time, the striker scored a total of 56 goals in 253 games. He played for five years on a team with his uncle Phil O'Donnell , who collapsed in the game against Dundee United on December 29, 2007 and died shortly afterwards. Clarkson scored two goals in that game. In the 2008/2009 season he wore 10, his uncle's old shirt number. In July 2009, Clarkson moved to the English second division club Bristol City . After a loan to Brentford FC , he moved to the Rovers on his return within Bristol . After two seasons for the club, he returned to his Scottish homeland and joined there first the FC Dundee , before Clarkson came back to FC Motherwell year, 2015.

National team

Clarkson made his debut in the Scottish national team on May 30, 2008 in a friendly against the Czech Republic , in which he managed a goal to the 1: 3 final against Petr Čech shortly before the end .
