David Hesselbarth

David Hesselbarth (born June 4, 1988 ) is a German racing cyclist .

Hesselbarth was German junior road racing champion in 2006 and was second overall in the junior stage race GP General Patton .

In the adult area, Hesselbarth drove for the UCI Continental Team Heizomat . During this time he was fourth overall in the Mainfranken Tour in 2008 and sixth in the Sparkassen Giro Bochum and in 2010 overall tenth in the Alsace Tour . He then moved to what was then the UCI Professional Continental Team NetApp . He was hardly used there due to two serious injuries and was not given a new contract for 2012. He ended his professional cycling career, studied medicine at the University of Heidelberg and started cycling for racing students .
