David J. Krieger

David J. Krieger (* 1948 ) is an American philosopher , social and religious scholar and non-fiction author living in Switzerland .

Career

Krieger studied philosophy, theology and religious studies at the University of Chicago (USA). He received his doctorate summa cum laude PhD with a thesis on intercultural and interreligious communication. After his first habilitation in religious studies, he qualified again for the disciplines of communication studies and religious studies, also at the University of Lucerne .

activity

David Krieger is currently titular professor for communication studies and for religious studies at the University of Lucerne and co-director of the Institute for Communication and Leadership in Lucerne. The main research areas are communication theory, systems theory, semiotics, new media, network theory, intercultural communication, intercultural hermeneutics, knowledge management, organizational theory, privacy, social media and society in the information age.
