The Simonette River is a right tributary of the Smoky River in the Canadian province of Alberta .

The river has its source at the foot of the Canadian Rockies , about 30 km east of Grande Cache . It flows in a predominantly north-northeast direction through Alberta. Later the Simonette River turns north-northeast and flows into the Smoky River on the right after about 200 km. The catchment area of ​​the Simonette River covers more than 5000 km² and borders in the west on that of the Smoky River and in the east on that of the Little Smoky River . The largest tributary of the Simonette River is the Latornell River . The mean discharge at the gauge near Goodwin not far from the estuary is 27 m³ / s.
