David Klein ( September 10, 1816 in Mainz - February 4, 1884 in Wiesbaden ) was a German opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Klein sang as a serious bass, initially at the Hoftheater Darmstadt , the Hoftheater Hannover and the Stadttheater Hamburg . In 1862 he went to Wiesbaden and stayed there until 1881.

His repertoire includes the "Komtur" ( Don Giovanni ), the "Bassi" ( Alessandro Stradella ), the "Don Fernando" ( Fidelio ) and the "Hermit" from the Freischütz .

He was buried in the Russian cemetery in Wiesbaden , where his tomb has been preserved.
