David Kelly Littleproud (born September 4, 1976 in Chinchilla , Queensland ) is an Australian politician.
Life
Littleproud is a member of the National Party of Australia and was an entrepreneur in the agricultural sector before going into politics. In the course of the general election in Australia in 2016 , Littleproud was elected to the Australian House of Representatives for the constituency of Maranoa in southern Queensland.
In December 2017 he was appointed to the cabinet of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources. Littleproud remained in that position until May 2019 when his portfolio was split and he remained Minister for Water Resources, Drought, Rural Finance, Natural Disasters and Emergency Management. In February 2020, his department was renamed again. Since then, Littleproud has served as Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management.
