David Obua (born April 10, 1984 in Kampala ) is a Ugandan soccer player who was last active in Scotland at Heart of Midlothian .

Club career

In 2005 Obua switched to the Kaizer Chiefs from South Africa. In his first season there (2006/07) he won the championship and the South African Player of the Year award.

After his contract with the Kaizer Chiefs expired, he moved to Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premier League in the summer of 2008 on a free transfer . He made his debut against FC St. Mirren . After his expiring contract with the Scots was not extended, he has been without a club since summer 2012.

He has been playing in the national dress for Uganda since 2001.

family

David Obua is the son of Denis Obua , who played for Uganda at the 1978 African Cup of Nations. His uncle John Akii-Bua was the first Olympic champion from Uganda by winning the 400-meter hurdles in a world record time (47.82 seconds) at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich .
