David Prill

David Prill (* 1959 ) is an American writer.

Live and act

David Prill grew up in Bloomington , Minnesota . He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in journalism. He wrote political columns for the Minnesota Daily, among others. David Prill lives in Eagan , a suburb of Minneapolis .

In 1989, Prill attended the renowned Clarion Science Fiction Writers' Workshop for budding science fiction and fantasy authors.

His first novel, The Unnatural , was published in 1995. In this satirical work, embalming the deceased is the number 1 sport in the United States. The Unnatural won the 1996 Minnesota Book Award in the Fantasy & Science Fiction category. In his second novel, Serial Killer Days , another black comedy, published in 1996, serial killer day is a holiday in a small town in Minnesota: since a serial killer has claimed a small town victim every year for twenty years, it is made a holiday. The novel was nominated for the 1997 James Tiptree, Jr. Award . In Second Coming Attractions , Christian films dominate Hollywood's film business . His short story The Last Horror Show was nominated for the 2004 International Horror Guild Award.
