David Veilleux

David Veilleux (born November 26, 1987 in Cap-Rouge ( Québec )) is a retired Canadian cyclist .

Career

David Veilleux finished third in the 2005 Canadian Championship junior time trial. He also won the overall ranking of the Tour de l'Abitibi junior race . In the 2006 season he drove in the U23 class, where he won both the time trial and the road race at the national championship. He also celebrated a stage win at the Coupe de la Paix. In 2007 Veilleux drove for the American Continental team Jittery Joe's , where he defended his U23 time trial title.

From 2008 to 2010 he drove for Kelly Benefit Strategies and from 2011 to 2013 he drove for the French team Europcar . Veilleux celebrated his greatest successes in 2012 at Tre Valli Varesine and in 2013 with a stage win at the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré .

At the end of the 2013 season he ended his career as a professional cyclist in order to concentrate on his studies and his family.
