Davood Roostaei
Davood Roostaei (* 1959 in Malayer , Iran ) is a painter and founder of cryptorealism .
biography
In 1974 he received an award as a miniaturist. In 1977 Roostaei graduated from high school and began studying art at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Tehran. In 1981 cultural trips to Egypt, India and Russia followed. He was politically persecuted and arrested in Iran. In 1984 he resumed his studies in Cologne .
In 1988 Roostaei had his first solo exhibitions in: Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Hanover and Cologne. In 1990 cryptorealism emerged. In 2004 further exhibitions followed in Berlin, Hamburg, Bonn, Frankfurt, Dubai, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Paris, Monaco, Rome and Nímes (France).
