Deão is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Viana do Castelo in the Minho-Lima sub-region . The community had 951 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Deão, Geraz do Lima (Santa Maria) , Geraz do Lima (Santa Leocádia) and Moreira de Geraz do Lima became the new parish União das Freguesias de Geraz do Lima (Santa Maria, Santa Leocádia e Moreira) e Deão united .
