Joe DeRita
Joe DeRita (* 12. July 1909 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania as Joseph Wardell ; † 3. July 1993 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American comedian and actor .
Life
Joe DeRita was born to Florence DeRita and Frank Wardell. As a child of a show business family, he was employed in the entertainment theater burlesque until 1942 . Together with Randolph Scott and Bing Crosby , he toured Europe for entertainment for the troops during the Second World War . He later became part of the comedy troupe The Three Stooges under the stage name Curly Joe DeRita and made several films, including Snow White & The Three Stooges , Skin the Hercules and A total, totally crazy world .
DeRita died on July 3, 1993 at the age of 83 of complications from pneumonia . He was the last of the three Stooges.
