Dead End Finland is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Helsinki , which was founded in 2007 under the name Dead End .
history
The band was formed in 2007 under the name Dead End. The line-up consists of the singer Mikko Virtanen, the bassist and guitarist Santtu Rosén, the drummer Miska Rajasuo and the keyboardist Jarno Hänninen and has remained unchanged since it was founded. In 2011 the debut album Stain of Disgrace was self-published. After the group had signed a recording deal with Inverse Records in 2012 , the debut album was re-released in the same year. The next two albums Season of Withering and Slaves to the Greed were released on this label in 2013 and 2016 .

Stephan Möller of Metal.de wrote in his review for Stain of Disgrace that to this modern melodic death metal with keyboards and pop is heard refrains, which strongly Soilwork inventories, as well as with groups like Sonic Syndicate and The Unguided of Fall. Especially the clear vocals used sound almost exactly like that of Soilwork. The music made a calculated and not very original impression on Möller. Occasionally he also hears a few parallels with Insomnium . Natalie Humphries from soundscapemagazine.com also assigned Season of Withering to Melodic Death Metal, where she particularly noticed the change from melodic (synthesized) and raw elements. The songs are mostly a change from hard verses and catchy, softer refrains. Marco's "Big Daddy" Garcia from metal-temple.com found that Slaves to the Greed offers a form of Melodic Death Metal that is modern and "heavy" and has influences from Amorphis , Sentenced in their quieter moments, Soilwork, Meshuggah and In Flames . The music is enriched with melodies, occasional clear vocals, keyboard passages and tempo changes.
