Death Mask (often also Deathmask ) is an American thrash metal band from New York that was founded in 1984, separated again in 1987 and reunited in 2009.
history
The band was formed in 1984 by guitarist Benny Ransom, singer Steven Michaels, bassist Chris Eichhorn and drummer Lee Nelson. They reached a contract with Killerwatt Records and released their debut album called Split the Atom . Due to a dispute between Ransom and Michaels, the band split again in 1987. In 2009 the band got together again. The debut album was again released on Retrospect Records in May 2009.
The album Sitting in the Dark was released in 2011.

The band's music is described as a mixture of heavy and speed metal, with occasional traces of hardcore punk being heard.
