Deathgaze is a Japanese alternative metal band with a style that is similar to visual kei , comparable to many other bands that were formed in Nagoya. In addition, great influences of metalcore can be heard in their music.

history

Deathgaze was founded in the summer of 2003 by Hazuki, Ai, Naoki, and Kanna. After the first single 294036224052 , singer Hazuki left the band in the spring of 2004 to form his own band Lynch . Guitarist Kanna also left the band in 2004. Subsequently, singer Sou and guitarist Naoto joined the band in late 2004. The band then released various other singles and their first album, before Sou left the band in 2006 to get married. In March 2007 the band announced their eight month break.

On November 11, 2007, they completed their hiatus. Bassist Ai now occupied the post of singer. They continued their shows as a three-piece band until March 2008 when Kosuke was finally added as bassist. On April 26th, 2009, guitarist Naoto retired from the band and the music, but indicated that he might return in the future. Since Naoto left, Takaki (ex. ASS'n'ARROW) has played guitar as live support for the band, while Ai has provided guitar riffs for "The Continuation" and "Blood". Takaki was named as an official member on November 20, 2009.

By 2009 Deathgaze had ten singles (one of which was a re-release) and three albums. Ai is the main composer and songwriter for the band even when Hazuki was a member. He is also responsible for the artwork for the CDs. The band also played under the name Knohhoso ( 野 っ 細 , Nohhoso ), in which they played cover songs by older and well-known Japanese rock bands. Ai was also a singer with Knohhoso.
