Debus is a small moon crater on the back of the moon . It lies east-southeast of the Ganskiy crater and west of the great Pasteur crater .
The outer rim of the crater is slightly eroded and there are some small craters on the rim. The inner surface is relatively flat and without any major incidents.
The crater was originally called "Ganskiy (Hansky) H" after the Russian astronomer Aleksey Pavlovich Ganskiy, before it was named Kurt H. Debus , the long-time director of the Kennedy Space Center , by the IAU in 2000 .
