Dechen is a small impact crater on the northwestern edge of the front of the moon in the plain of Oceanus Procellarum . The crater rim is circular and little eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German geologist and inventor Ernst Heinrich von Dechen .
