Deerhunter is an American indie rock - band from Atlanta , Georgia , consisting of Bradford Cox (vocals, guitar), Lockett Pundt (guitar), Josh McKay (bass) and Moses Archuleta (drums). The band has released six albums and two EPs since its inception in 2001.
history
The band was formed in 2001 by Bradford Cox and Moses Archuleta. A little later, Colin Mee joined as a guitarist. After the death of their first bass player Justin Bosworth in 2004, Joshua Fauver took his position. In 2005 they released their debut album Turn It Up Fagot . Then Lockett Pundt, a high school friend of Cox's, joined the band. This was followed in 2007 by the release of the second album Cryptograms and the EP Fluorescent Gray , before Colin Mee left the band in the middle of the year due to disputes within the band. After an extensive tour, the third album Microcastle was released in autumn 2008 in the form of a double album with the CD Weird Era Cont. released. After another tour, the EP Rainwater Cassette Exchange followed in 2009 , before their fourth album Halcyon Digest was finally released in 2010 .
