The Defense Information Systems Agency ( DISA ) is an agency of the US Department of Defense . It was founded in 1960 and was called the Defense Communications Agency until 1991 . Its headquarters are in Fort Meade , Maryland . Your tasks include providing information and communication technology support for the President , Vice-Presidents , Defense Ministers and the armed forces .

From January to July 2011, 4,500 military and civilian employees of the DISA, as well as on-site contractors from Arlington and Falls Church, Virginia, who were previously housed there in different locations, moved to the new headquarters complex in Fort George G. Meade , Maryland .
