The Defense Security Service ( DSS ; German Defense Security Service ) is the US Department of Defense subordinated and security checks around, hired by people to Him; to carry out the supervision of the National Industry Security Program (NISP) and safety training. The current director of the DSS is Stanley "Stan" Sims and his deputy is James Kren.
The Defense Investigative Service (DIS) was founded in 1972, from which the Defense Security Service emerged in 1999. The primary goal of the DSS is to protect national security.
The 894 employees of the DSS are responsible for protecting over 12,000 industrial facilities under the jurisdiction of the Defense Security Service. The employees are known as special agents .
The Defense Security Service must not be confused with the Diplomatic Security Service . Its agents are federal agents and not employees. Furthermore, the Diplomatic Security Service has another function, namely to protect high-ranking state guests and other selected persons on American soil.
