The campaign

Supported school in Burundi

Your Day for Africa is a nationwide development education campaign for students of all ages and all types of schools. On the day of the action, participating pupils do not go to school as usual, but look for a paid job in a company, do support services with friends and family, organize a solidarity march Go For Africa or plan creative activities (e.g. flea market). In this way, the children and young people in Germany actively support their peers in Africa.

The organization sets a nationwide day of action for each school year. Participating schools also have the option of freely choosing their own day of action. In 2017, around 200,000 students from 583 schools took part.

Nationwide patron is the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate , Malu Dreyer . The campaign is also supported by many other celebrities, such as B. supported the former Federal President Joachim Gauck and actress Nora Tschirner .
