Decorative scarf
Decorative scarves or decorative curtains are colored patterned curtain side parts that are attached to the right and left of a window . They are also often referred to as over-curtains because they are drawn on a second rail in front of the curtains.
They are mostly made from non-transparent or barely transparent decorative fabrics . Decorative scarves are traditionally used in combination with blinds . Since the advent of the burnout, there have been so-called in-between fabrics that are denser than a store, but more transparent than decorative fabrics.
Decorative scarves are used to be tightened or fixed. In Germany they are often finished with a bottom hem of 10 to 17 mm, in which a lead tape is inserted so that the vertical folds fall better.

In rooms without shutters, decorative scarves are lined with blackout fabrics that can be pulled shut to achieve optimal darkening. Curtains can be padded to give them more volume.
As far as the correct ground clearance is concerned, there is no exact technical specification. Everything is possible, from overlaying decorations to decorative scarves with 15 cm clearance from the floor. In addition to the appearance, the floor covering and its maintenance should be considered when determining. In hospitals with PVC or linoleum flooring that are hurriedly wiped with a large mob, a floor clearance of 3 cm is too small, as the scarf quickly becomes soiled in the area of the floor seam. In a 4-star hotel with blackout scarves, a distance of 4 cm is too much, as the look is unsightly and too much light is let in if guests want to sleep during the day.
In contrast to panel curtains , decorative scarves are always decorated in vertical folds. These folds can be created by gathering a sewn-on rail or fold tape or by sewing in Flemish folds . When hanging on loops or eyelets, the folds appear automatically.
Depending on the width of the fabric being processed and the desired finished height, the fabric is turned over or processed in strips.
Decorative scarves can be held on the side and gathered with the help of a tieback .
