Panel curtain

Panel curtain

A panel curtain is a smoothly hanging window decoration that can be moved on rails. In contrast to the blind or decorative scarf , there are no vertical folds. It is often referred to as a sliding curtain. The English terms panel track or panel curtains are sometimes used.

Attachment

As a rule, a loop tape is sewn onto the top of the fabric. This is attached to a panel trolley that runs in a panel curtain rail . So the panel curtain can be moved. The individual panel curtains can be moved freely, or they can be pulled in a predetermined sequence with drivers.

decoration

Panel curtains can be used as wall decorations, as this makes it relatively easy to place image motifs in the room, which can be quickly pushed aside if necessary. In the extended state, the panel curtain then shows a printed motif. When pushed together, it ideally only takes up the area of a single curtain element.

It is possible to produce panel curtains whose width is greater than their height. As a rule, panel curtains are made in slim proportions in order to emphasize the vertical. With a width of well over a meter, they look rather clumsy.

In rare cases, panel curtain decorations consist of just a single panel curtain. Therefore, the question often arises of how the individual elements should be arranged and where they can be parked. The space required can then be influenced by the number of runs of the panel curtain rail.

Lower edges

In order for the panel curtain to fall straight, a weighting profile is usually inserted into the bottom hem.

material

Any material that has the necessary dimensional stability is suitable as a material. In addition to the common patterns and designs in specialist shops, the possibility of individual design stands out in particular. In the private as well as in the commercial sector, the panel curtain can be printed with a motif, logo or text. When using sensitive fabrics, a sling rod should be attached so that the fabric can be moved without touching the fabric. As an alternative to the throwing rod, a pull cord can be used. The panel curtains are then moved by the train on an endless cord. It is possible to equip the individual tracks to be moved with exchangeable handles on both sides; these are preferably held magnetically and thus enable the direct movement of the fabric webs by hand without contaminating the fabric through frequent touching.
