Delhi School of Economics
The Delhi School of Economics (also known as DSE or D School ) is a department of Delhi University for advanced research and teaching in economics , sociology and geography in Delhi , India . It was founded in 1949 with the support of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru . It is currently under the direction of Yogesh Tyagi.
history
The facility was established to support administration and policy development in newly independent India and other countries. The range of topics was soon expanded and covered u. a. different areas of business administration . In 1959, the geography and sociology departments were also established. In 1967, management was moved to its own department, and a department for trade was created , which was converted into its own faculty in 1993.
Institutional structure
The DSE consists of the Economics, Geography and Sociology Departments which are part of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Delhi University. The Department of Commerce is part of the Faculty of Commerce and Industry.
