Delphine Coulin (* 1972 in Lorient , France ) is a French author , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Since the beginning of the new millennium, Coulin has worked for several years as a co-producer for documentaries for the Franco-German television channel arte . She also worked for the La Cimade refugee relief organization for some time . For this reason, she was familiar with the subject of her first novel Samba for France , which was published in German in 2014. The book was made into a film by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache and was released in German cinemas with the title Today I'm Samba .

She directed and wrote the screenplay with her sister Muriel Coulin in the 2011 feature film 17 Girls . The film was nominated at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival in the Semaine internationale de la critique and received the César for best debut in 2012 .
