Delta metal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Delta metal is an older, but still common, name for a special brass alloy with 56% copper , 40% zinc , 2% lead and 1% each of iron and manganese . Delta metal has a golden yellow color and its special properties are high strength and resistance to sea water and weak acids. Highly polished, this alloy is therefore often used for ship fittings.

Deltametall can also be found under the trade name Dixigold .
