Demetrios Zenos

Demetrios Zenos (Δημήτριος Ζηνός, Dēmētrios Zēnós or Dimítrios Zinós ; * around 1500, † around 1540) was a Greek corrector and author in Venice .

He was born around 1500 on the Greek island of Zakynthos . He went to Venice, where he was promoted by Andreas Kunadis and Damiano Santa Maria. He worked as a proofreader in the printing works of the brothers Giovanni Antonio and Stefano Nicolini da Sabbio for their prints in Greek. He also worked as a copyist and translator.

In 1530 he wrote a modern Greek paraphrase of the late Hellenistic Batrachomyomachia . After 1540 there is no more news about him.

In 1837 Friedrich Wilhelm August Mullach published an annotated bilingual Greek-Latin edition of his Batrachomyomachia paraphrases .
