Demian Lienhard

Demian Lienhard (* 1987 in Baden AG ) is a Swiss writer and archaeologist.

Life

Lienhard received his doctorate in classical archeology from the University of Cologne in 2017 and then worked as a research assistant at the University of Frankfurt . For his dissertation he received the one-year travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute in 2018/19 and his text remaining on the route was awarded the 2nd prize of the Prenzlauer Berg literature prize in 2018 .

In his debut novel “I am the one my mother warned me about” (Frankfurter Verlagsanstalt 2019), Lienhard deals with the open drug scene in Zurich in the 1990s. This novel received one of the Swiss literary prizes in 2020 .
