The Democracy Sol Halk Partisi , DSHP , ( German : Democratic Left People's Party ) was a political party in the Republic of Turkey .
The founder of the Democratic Left Party Rahşan Ecevit founded the Democratic Left People's Party with other former DSP members who were also dissatisfied with the political course of the DSP after Bülent Ecevit's death . Rahşan Ecevit gave the following statement on the founding of the party: “Exactly for this reason [the party's increasing lack of action and the deviation from the course of Bülent Ecevit] are those who have left the Democratic Left Party ( DSP ) and who soon realize Bülent Ecevit's ideas want and want to end the government of the Party for Justice and Recovery and want to contribute to the formation of a government that is sufficient for the Republic of Turkey, have come together under the name of Democracy Sol Halk Partisi and have started work. "
On January 13, 2010, Cevizoğlu resigned as party chairman. With him resigned the deputy party chairman İsmail Dükel, the general secretary Özkan Leblebici and his deputies Murat Ali Sakal and Aytaç Tiryaki.
In May 2010, following Deniz Baykal's withdrawal from the leadership of Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP), there was strong support for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu within the left-wing media. Rahşan Ecevit also supported Kılıçdaroğlu to maintain unity in the Turkish left. She joined the CHP Congress on May 22, 2010, when Kılıçdaroğlu was elected as the new chairman. Finally, the founding board of directors decided to close the party on June 12, 2010.
