Democratic Movement - United Georgia ( Georgian დემოკრატიული მოძრაობა - ერთიანი საქართველო, demociuli modzraoba - ert'iani Sak'art'velo ) DBVG for short, is a Georgian party that was founded in 2008 by the former parliamentary speaker Nino Burjanadze . Burjanadze is also the chairwoman of the DBVG.

The DBVG was founded in 2008 after Nino Burdschanadze split from the party of then President Mikheil Saakashvili , the United National Movement . It called for protests against Saakashvili, some of which were violent, from which other opposition parties such as the Free Democrats distanced themselves. In 2011, the party was only around one percent in the polls.

Burjanadze was nominated for the presidential elections in Georgia in 2013 . Among other things , she campaigned against her image as a reformer with homophobic statements. Although she was temporarily traded as a demolition candidate, she only received 10.18 percent of the vote in the election. She was the third-placed candidate out of 23 candidates. In the run-up to the election, Burjanadze and the DBVG received campaign donations of 400,000 euros.

For the 2016 parliamentary elections, the party went public with an initiative on the non-alignment of Georgia. The neutrality should be enshrined in the Constitution. Foreign troops would then no longer be allowed on Georgian soil.
