Demon (rhetorician)
Demon , son of Demomeles from the Demos Paiania , was a nephew of Demosthenes and a priest of the local Asclepius cult.
Demon was probably identical to the rhetorician Demon, whose extradition in 335 BC. Was demanded by Alexander the great . From Timocles he was in the course of Harpalosskandals accused of corruption. Like Demosthenes, he is said to have accepted bribes from Harpalus to support him. Demon requested 323 BC BC, his convicted in this process to have uncle Demosthenes recalled to Athens.
