Demon of Athens

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Demon of Athens was an ancient Attic historian . He lived around 300 BC Chr.

Demon wrote a local history of Attica, in which he gave a lot of space to the royal era. His presentation met with opposition; Philochorus wrote the counter-writing against the Atthis Demons . Demon's other works were On the Mysteries of Eleusis , On Sacrifice and On Proverbs . The remains of the writings that have been preserved are of antiquarian interest, but from a historical perspective they are not very productive.
