Deń ( Ukrainian День , German: The Day ) is a Ukrainian daily newspaper . It appears in a daily circulation of around 60,000 copies. The editorial office is in Kiev . The first edition was published on September 11, 1996 in Ukrainian. Since January 1997 the paper has been published five times a week (Mon. – Fri.), And a Russian-language version now also exists . The English-language edition The Day (7,000 copies) has also been published every Thursday since 1998 . Den is the only newspaper in the CIS region that appears in three languages.

The newspaper provides information and analyzes on daily events in politics, society and culture, and since 2004 there has also been an economic section. The newspaper appears in broadsheet format on 8 pages, Friday edition on 24.

Since 1999 the editorial team has organized an annual photo competition with the subsequent exhibition of the best works in the country's largest cities.

The newspaper is also known for a series of books entitled “The Den Newspaper Library”. The books are compilations of journalistic research and essays on specific topics. So far, two such compilations have been published: Ukrajina Incognita - Uncovering and processing the "white spots" of Ukrainian history (1997-2002) and "Two Ruthenia " - dealing with the complex Russian-Ukrainian relationship, phobias and prejudices between the two peoples.

The newspaper is said to be close to the ex- KGB general and former Ukrainian prime minister Yevhen Martschuk .
