Denemo is a graphic music notation program . Denemo is Free Software under the GPL and is based on the free GTK + library . Lilypond is used to output the set notes in print quality . The notes can be played with an internal sampler . Optionally, there is also a more flexible interface via JACK .
philosophy
The aim of the program is to create notation for the LilyPond Music Engraver effectively and at high speed . The user does not need to learn the complex Lilypond syntax . Composing , transcribing , arranging and playback functions are controlled by the PC keyboard, MIDI keyboards or a microphone. Denemo should not just be a notation program, but a complete composing and rendering environment (sheet music → sound).
Data formats
Denemo uses its own XML format to save the note data ( file extension : .denemo ). Alternatively, the following formats are supported (import and export):
It is also possible to export files in PDF or PNG format .
