action

When Teru's older brother died, she was left with a cell phone with the number of a man named "DAISY", who is supposed to support Teru if her brother is no longer able to do so. DAISY became of great support to her over the next few years, encouraging her over the phone, be it inspirational words or simple small talk , so that she is not alone with her problems.

One afternoon after being bullied by students on the Student Council and being scared away by a stranger, Teru accidentally breaks a school window. As a punishment, she has to work for the grumpy, mean school janitor Tasuku Kurosaki. From then on, Teru develops deeper feelings for the mysterious man who supports her, and she wishes to get to know him.

She wonders if Kurosaki is the DAISY she loves, while Kurosaki is also drawn to Teru. He was actually hired by her brother to protect her. As a hacker , Kurosaki worked with her brother and now feels responsible for his friend's death.

Characters

main characters

Teru Kurebayashi ( 紅 林 照 , Kurebayashi Teru )
The 16-year-old high school student has a strong will and a friendly demeanor.
Tasuku Kurosaki ( 黒 崎 祐 , Kurosaki Tasuku )
The 24 year old works as a caretaker in Terus school. Kurosaki is almost never seen without a cigarette, he drinks and is often involved in fights. In contrast to his unfriendly demeanor, he is very concerned about Teru and has a strong protective instinct towards her. Teru's friends describe him as very attractive, although he usually doesn't show his feelings.

Supporting characters

Masuda / Master ( 増 田 )
Masuda / Master is the manager of the Ohanabatake , a western-style tea house that is often seen wearing a bandana and apron. Kurosaki, Riko, and a few others know him as "Master" (a play on words with his name Masuda ). Contrary to his cordial demeanor and tendency to tease Kurosaki about his relationship with Teru, the Master can be surprisingly terrifying. Kurosaki admits the Master is creepier than him. He knows exactly about Kurosaki's activities as DAISY and has been watching over him before any of them had any contact with Sōichirō Kurebayashi.
Riko Onizuka ( 鬼塚 理 子 , Onizuka Riko )
Riko Onizuka was a member of Teru's brother's design team and also his friend. Therefore she regards Teru as her younger sister and lives with her in an apartment as Kurosaki's neighbors. Riko is friends with Kurosaki and often serves him as a secret advisor when it comes to Teru, occasionally annoying him or hurting him whenever she thinks he has behaved inappropriately towards Teru. She is also a school advisor at Teru's school. Riko is 30 years old.
Kiyoshi Hasegawa ( 長谷川 清 , Hasegawa Kiyoshi )
Kiyoshi is Teru's classmate and best friend, as well as a scholarship holder. He tried to find out more about why Teru was left penniless after her brother's death, despite Sōichirō's reputation as a brilliant technician. Nevertheless, he puts himself and Teru in danger, but is saved by Kurosaki. Since Kiyoshi is an intelligent boy and can keep a secret, the master lets him in as a sign of confidence in DAISY's true identity. Kurosaki later hires him as another "servant" and protector for Teru, although the latter makes fun of Kurosaki's affection for Teru.
Kazumasa Andō ( 安藤 数 正 , Andō Kazumasa )
The principal of the high school Teru attends and works on Kurosaki as caretaker. Andō is a former colleague of DAISY and Teru's brother. Originally he was the replacement for Kurosaki as caretaker. Although he often emerges from strange, narrow and dark places like air vents or trash cans and likes to be hit, he is very serious when it comes to matters involving DAISY and plays the role of group leader during investigations. He got his nickname, Andy, from Sōichirō.
Rena Ichinose ( 一 之 瀬 玲奈 , Ichinose Rena )
Rena is the Chair of the Student Council. She's a good-looking girl who seduces the student council into bullying scholars like Teru and Kiyoshi to privatize the school's facilities, and has a tendency to get involved with shady men. Thanks to Teru's friendliness, she gradually manages to break away from this behavior. While Rena would never admit it, Teru becomes one of her first real friends, and she indirectly helps Teru deepen their relationship with Kurosaki. The story suggests that Rena later developed feelings for Kiyoshi.
Haruka Sawaguchi ( 沢 口 遥 , Sawaguchi Haruka )
As Teru's classmate and friend, Haruka acts as a kind of clique leader in Teru's circle of friends and encourages Teru to consolidate her relationship with Kurosaki. She is the first person to whom Teru confides in finding out who DAISY really is. Haruka is often the first to come to Teru's aid at school, often bringing in her other friends. She is a member of the art group, the athletics team and the ghost club.
Masumi Takeda ( 竹田 真澄 , Takeda Masumi )
One of DAISY's former employees. Masumi is described as stubborn but not particularly clever. He comes to the school as the new computer science teacher and administrator for information management, but actually he wants Teru's cell phone because he believes it contains unpublished programs that Sōichirō wrote before his death. While his first attempt is still thwarted by Kurosaki, after the second failure Takeda decides to stop harassing Teru because she is very determined and friendly. He later becomes an ally of DAISY.

More characters

Sōichirō Kurebayashi ( 紅 林 奏 一郎 , Kurebayashi Sōichirō )
Sōichirō Kurebayashi is the late brother of Teru Kurebayashi. Respected and admired as a talented computer specialist, he led a team of technicians including Tasuku Kurosaki and Riko Onizuka. Little is known about him, but he has been portrayed alternately as strangely affectionate and serious and empathetic to his sister and those entrusted to him. Before his death, Sōichirō likely developed software that could be sold at a high price but that mysteriously disappeared. He forced the role of DAISY on his friend Kurosaki. Eventually it was announced that Sōichirō died of stomach cancer; instead of undergoing treatment, Sōichirō invested his remaining time in saving Kurosaki by neutralizing the virus code that Kurosaki was forced to spread. Although Sōichirō died of an illness, Kurosaki blames himself for his death.
Tetsuya Arai ( 新 井 哲 也 , Arai Tetsuya )
The former computer science teacher and system administrator of the school network. He had a relationship with Rena and was an advisor to the student council. Still, he kept money from the school budget until Teru asks DAISYs for help in uncovering Arai's actions. Arai was released shortly afterwards, but involuntarily becomes the pawn in a series of illegal activities against DAISY. Concerned for Rena's safety, he gives Teru information about the organization that has him in hand.
Chiharu Mori ( 森 千 春 , Mori Chiharu )
Initially described as an attractive nurse, Mori develops into a snooty woman who often utters barely concealed insults towards Teru. However, Kurosaki soon creeps the suspicion that Mori is capable of more than she is trying to use Teru to expose DAISY. In fact, she is the real culprit behind a series of attacks on Teru and Kurosaki aimed at gaining intelligence on a dangerous project that Kurosaki created. Since she was hired as the school principal by Ando's predecessor, nothing is known about her past. When her true identity is revealed, she disappears from school and has been on the run ever since.
Akira ( ア キ ラ )
A creepy, mysterious boy who at first glance bears an amazing resemblance to Teru's older brother Sōichirō and has a big grin that makes him look like a madman. To hide his appearance, he wears a hoodie and often plays with a yo-yo. His behavior is unpredictable and apparently reckless, despite being exceptionally devoted to Mori Chiharu, of whom he is an accomplice. Although it later turns out that he is a talented hacker, Akira is a miserable stooge due to his childish behavior as a result of the special treatment he has been given until then. Akira shows brutal behavior towards Teru, whom he likes to hurt in order to provoke Kurosaki, whom he blames for unknown things in his past.
