Monument to the Constitution of May 3, 1791

The monument to the Constitution of May 3, erected in 1916 on the Lithuanian Square in Lublin , Poland , commemorates the Constitution of May 3, 1791 of Poland-Lithuania . It bears the inscription: NA PAMIĄTKĘ OBCHODÓW 125 ROCZNICY 3 MAJA 1791–1916 (To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3, 1791–1916).

After the Second World War , the monument was moved to the background of the square and disappeared under bushes. In 1981 it was restored and returned to its original location. In the course of the restoration it was given a base with the inscription 1791–1981. The monument is crowned by a stone eagle created by Witold Marcewicz.
