Denninger colony

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Denninger Colony is a settlement in Munich .

location

The colony is located in the Denning district in the district 13 Bogenhausen west of Ostpreußenstrasse between Denninger Strasse in the south and Memeler Strasse in the north. Westpreußenstrasse and a green corridor behind it limit the settlement to the west.

history

In 1920 the brickworks that belonged to the old core courtyard were closed. From 1925 the area was divided into individual plots and sold.

Initially, smaller houses and wooden huts were built here, and some properties were initially only used as gardens and for keeping small animals. This simple development was increasingly replaced by larger houses and villas , especially after the Second World War .

description

The Denninger colony has an extension of about 750 m in north-south direction and about 400 m in east-west direction. Its area is about 30 hectares.

Even if the houses there today are no longer the original ones, the settlement is still characterized by single-family houses surrounded by gardens. Row houses are only to the west of West Prussia Street.
