Denzel publishing house

The Innsbruck- based Denzel-Verlag specializes in the publication of tour guides in the Alpine region . The publishing house was founded by Eduard Denzel († September 1999) in 1952. In 1984 Harald Denzel took over the publishing house.

In 1956 the first edition of the Car Guide of the High Alpine Roads appeared ; Meanwhile, the best-known work is called Großer Alpen-Straßen-Führer (now in its 27th edition from April 2019), in which the routes are rated according to their technical difficulty using the Denzel Alpine Road Scale . Other works deal with the subjects of motorcycle tours in the Eastern and Western Alps as well as in Germany, historical pictures, hiking trails and via ferratas.
