The custodian of Jizerní I Vtelno (also hoard I of Jizerní Vtelno ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Jizerní Vtelno in Středočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the National Museum in Prague .

Find history

The depot was discovered in March 1884 while gardening at a depth of 1 m. No other findings were found in the immediate vicinity. In 1934 a second depot was discovered just 150 m to the west-northwest , which dates to the same period.

composition

The depot consists of four bronze arm spirals , ten solid oval rings, a pendant and a wire as well as two decorative discs (Faleren) on copper . The arm spirals are cylindrical and made of thick wire, three of which have a circular cross-section and one of which has a rectangular cross-section. The different dimensions of the spirals indicate that there are two pairs. The oval rings have two ribbed ends and eight tapered ends. The rings with ribbed ends have recently broken, each with a piece missing. The remaining eight rings are complete. Due to their weight, they can be arranged in four pairs. The pendant consists of an undecorated disc 20 mm in diameter, which is connected to a hanging arch by a short wire-wound neck, about half of which is still preserved. The total length of the trailer is 42 mm. The wire broke into three pieces. The decorative discs are identical. They are made of solid sheet metal and have a central boss, a decoration of four concentric circular bands and two rivets.
