Find history

The place where the depot was found is behind this building

The depot was discovered in the spring of 1934 on a farm in the village at a depth of 0.5 m. The exact circumstances of the find are unknown. The finds were initially thrown away and only later given to the museum. As early as 1884, a first deposit was discovered just 150 m east-southeast , which dates to the same period.

composition

It is unclear how many items the depot originally contained. Nine bronze objects were given to the museum : an eyelet neck ring , seven solid oval rings and a fragment of another oval ring. The eyelet neck ring has fine facets . The oval rings have tapered ends that are decorated with transverse grooves and ribs. Cast seams are particularly noticeable on the inside. Clay- filled cavities were found in the middle of two rings and the fragment . The oval rings can be arranged in three sets based on their design, one of which consists of three and the other of two copies. One pair also stands out from the other rings because of its higher weight. The first set may be incomplete and may originally consist of four instead of three rings.
