The Märker - regional history magazine for the area of ​​the former Grafschaft Mark and the Märkischen Kreis is a regional history magazine in North Rhine-Westphalia . It deals with the history of Grafschaft Mark and the regional history of the Märkisches Kreis .

The magazine has been published since 1951 ( ISSN  0024-9661 ) and was initially called Der Märker - Heimatblatt for the area of ​​the former County of Mark. It was the beginning of the Society of Friends of the Burg Altena issued today by the Märkischer Kreis.

As a forerunner, the magazine Süderland - Heimatblatt for the southern part of Grafschaft Mark was published in June 1923 . It was under the editorship of Ferdinand Schmidt, archivist of the Burg Altena , edited and Altenaer Kreisblatt settled. From 1925, Der Märker - Heimatkalender for the Sauerland in the Brandenburg region was published under the editorship of Ferdinand Schmidt and Heinrich Kleibauer.
