Karl Jaensch and Franz Mletzko acted as cameramen . The film was shot in front of the Tegel prison . The film shows authentic pictures of the shoemaker Wilhelm Voigt on the day of his release from prison on August 16, 1908. The day before, a pardon was signed by Kaiser Wilhelm II .
