action

The extremely wealthy Richard Abernethie has passed away. When his bereaved relatives gather to open his will , it becomes clear that, contrary to expectations, it is not their favorite nephew George who will inherit, but on the contrary the property is to be sold and divided evenly among the other relatives. In the discussion that followed, the deceased's sister, named Cora Gallaccio, asks whether the others didn't know that her brother had been murdered. The rest of the family, however, strongly doubt it. The next day, Cora is found dead in her house. Apparently she was caught by a burglar and executed with an ax. The family lawyer summons Hercule Poirot to seemingly just investigate this murder. In reality, the lawyer also has doubts about Richard Abernethie's natural demise. In addition, documents disappear and the will turns out to be a forgery. Some family secrets are then revealed, but Poirot continues to grope in the dark. The killer’s tricks are too clever. After all, it is a tiny detail of a wax bouquet that helps Poirot convict the real culprit.
