Little Tiger Daniel (original title: Tiger Daniel's Neighborhood ) is an American animated series that has been shown since 2012. The ongoing series consists of over 40 episodes of two stories each. It is the sequel to the 1963 series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood .

content

The series is about bringing solutions to everyday problems closer to children and making them understandable for them. Each episode is made up of two stories, both of which share the same morality, explained in song form and sometimes in rhyme.

main characters

  • Daniel Tiger: Daniel is a little tiger and the main character in the series. He lives with his parents in a bungalow on the outskirts by the sea. Daniel often carries a blue plush tiger named Tigi with him.
  • Elena Weber: Elena is a good friend of Daniels and has a lot of imagination. Her father runs a musical instrument shop and her mother runs a museum with a rotating dome.
  • Prince Willi: Although he often uses the adjective “royal” and wears a crown, he does not consider himself better than his friends. Prince Willi lives in a castle with his parents King Frederick and Queen Sara and his brother Prince Toby. This makes him the only one of the friends who is not an only child. His original name is Prince Wednesday.
  • Huhu owl: Huhu (in the original O) is a little owl and lives with his uncle Hugo (in the original X) in a tree. Huhu loves nothing more than books. Even his bread box looks like a book.
  • Katharina Miezekatz: Your surname is originally Kittycat. She lives with her mother Henrietta in a house that is built exactly in Huhu's tree. Of all friends, she comes closest to Daniel in terms of relatives. Katharina is very lithe and likes to dance ballet .
  • Molly: Molly (in the original trolley) is a self-driving tram that Daniel and his friends often drive around. You can only make yourself understood by ringing the doorbell.

Connections to the predecessor

Some of the parents were originally the main characters in Mister Roger's Neighborhood . Daniel's father is the original Daniel and Elena's mother Elaine Weber (in the original: Fairchild ) ran a museum back then, while her father Stan also owned the music store. Molly was also driving around town at the time, and King Friday, Queen Saturday, Prince Tuesday, and X also appeared. Henrietta Pussycat also lived in a house that was built in X 'Baum. Prince Willi's cousin Chrissie, who relies on walking aids, was named after Chrissy Thompson , a frequent visitor to the original series.

Like Fred Rogers , Daniel greets the audience in the opening credits by singing that they are neighbors while he puts on a red cardigan and sneakers.

The series was produced by the Fred Rogers Company and Out of the Blue Enterprises, directed by Vadim Kapridov and, for one episode, Nathalie Toriel .
