Derrygonnelly ( Irish Doire Ó gConaíle ) is a municipality in Northern Ireland . It belonged to the historic county of Fermanagh from 1973 to 2015 District Fermanagh and since 2015 District Fermanagh and Omagh .

Derrygonnelly is located on Upper Lough Erne and near the border with the Republic of Ireland . The old market town lives mainly from cattle farming and dairy products, so that agriculture still dominates today. The long tradition of Irish folk music is also significant. Every year there is a music festival dedicated to the memory of the town's most famous son, the musician Eddie Duffy , who died in 1986, and which encourages local musical talent.

The population of the place was determined in the 2001 Census with 594 people, of which 77.4% were Catholic and 20.1% Protestant.
