Fermanagh and Omagh ( Irish Ceantar Fhear Manach agus na hÓmaí ) is a district in Northern Ireland . It was formed on April 1, 2015 from the Fermanagh and Omagh Districts . It is administered by the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council .

location

The new District is located in the south-west of Northern Ireland and includes all of County Fermanagh and the south-west and center of County Tyrone . It borders the Irish counties of Donegal , Leitrim , Cavan and Monaghan to the west, south-west, south and south-east . There are 81,065 eligible voters in this district. The name was announced on September 17, 2008.

The Fermanagh and Omagh District Council replaced the Fermanagh District Council and the Omagh District Council . The first elections for the District Council were supposed to take place in May 2009, but 25 April 2008 announced Shaun Woodward , Minister of Northern Ireland that the elections in 2011 were postponed. The first elections actually took place on May 22, 2014.
