ISO 3166-2: GB
The list of ISO 3166-2 codes for the United Kingdom contains the codes for the administrative divisions of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for the United Kingdom GB), the second the code for the administrative districts.

The first half of the code is the UK code according to ISO 3166-1 . The second part is a three-character code as defined in the British standard BS 6879.
The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not part of the United Kingdom , but ISO initially assigned them a code under GB-". With a change in the eighth newsletter ( ISO 3166-2: 2003-09-05 ( Memento from June 6th 2011 in the Internet Archive )) they were assigned their own ISO 3166-2 codes ( ISO 3166-2: GG (Guernsey), ISO 3166-2: IM (Isle of Man) and ISO 3166-2: JE (Jersey)).
